Mariah Carey has apparently decided that it’s best to poke fun at her tipsy acceptance speech at the Palm Springs International Film Festival.

“ANGEL CHAMPAGNE (ROSE) by MC coming soon!” she Tweeted on Friday.

According to, she continued joking about the infamous incoherent speech during her concert at the MGM Grand at Foxwoods in Connecticut – her first show since the film festival.

Early in the show, she walked to a table on the stage to get a drink from a clear plastic bottle and announced, “It’s not liquor, I promise. … But there is a [champagne] bottle up there and I can’t make any promises. Joking, joking, joking.”

At one point, Carey’s makeup artist and hairstylist came out for touch-ups and the makeup artist handed her a glass of champagne. “This is what happens,” she cracked. “They force it down my throat.”

Later, while singing “Emotions,” she emphasized the word “intoxicated” in the lyrics.

Despite a few glitches – she admitted she didn’t know the set list at one point, and also restarted “We Belong Together” after apparently forgetting the lyrics – Carey thrilled the audience, not to mention her husband, Nick Cannon, who made a brief appearance on stage during “The Impossible,” the song he inspired.
