*”American Idol” contestant Angela Martin has released a photo of her missing mother in hopes that someone in and around Chicago may recognize her and come forward with information.
“My mother is a loving mom despite everything that she’s been through,” Angela tells People.com. “She was there at my audition in Chicago. She was the one holding my daughter. It was a highlight for her because this was my third time and she was really happy to be a part of it.”
Viola Brown Martin was last seen on Dec. 26 after a family Christmas dinner. She was headed to the house of Angela’s older sister, but never showed up. Glenwood, Ill. police found Viola’s tan-colored 1999 Chrysler Cirrus on New Year’s Eve in the south Chicago suburbs of Riverdale and Dixmoor, not close to her daughter Latrina’s home.
Angela added that her mother, who had been clean and off drugs for the past seven years, was an admired employee of Burnham Healthcare in Chicago.
“She works really hard in the medical records department and is a manager there,” she says. “She has been doing good for herself and even her boss will tell you, they love her up there and are as concerned as we are.”
