Wesley Jonathan in ‘Speed Dating’
*As part of an innovative pre-release viral campaign for the hilarious new film, college students across the country are invited to watch the film’s webcast, featuring behind-the-scenes commentary with the starring cast, for the chance to win an exclusive pre-release “private screening” of the film on their college campus and a live performance by the up-and-coming music group Prototype, whose music is featured in the film.
Students can register for the webcast online at http://speed-datingmovie.com/ and the college with the most registrations will win the exclusive on-campus screening and Prototype performance.
The winning school will be announced during the film’s webcast on February 23.
The high-energy romantic comedy “Speed-Dating” follows three bachelors, who devise the ultimate scheme to get women and money – speed-dating – to hilarious effect.
The film features a cast of hot young talent including Wesley Jonathan (Crossover, Roll Bounce), Chico Benymon (Half & Half), Leonard Robinson (Wild ‘N Out), Vanessa Simmons (Run’s House, Daddy’s Girls) and multi-platinum rap artist Chingy, as well as Hollywood veterans including Emmy Award-winning Chris Elliott (Something About Mary), Clint Howard (Night At The Museum II) and Holly Robinson Peete.
Mekita Faiye not only stars, but produces the film under her production company Eizzil Entertainment. The film is scheduled for release in 2010.

The San Francisco-based group Prototype’s upcoming single “On Top” is featured in the film, which also includes new music by Grammy Award-winning rapper Common and Grammy-nominated singer Syleena Johnson. Prototype, currently opening for the Black Eyed Peas on their U.S. tour, brings a genre gumbo of pop, R&B, and hip-hop, mixed with a little euro, to create a supernova of a new breed. Their high-energy live shows have fans and critics buzzing about their performance style. Prototype will release their highly-anticipated debut CD, Urban Punk, in 2010. The debut is being produced by Black Eyed Peas drummer and Grammy Award-winning producer Keith Harris, currently nominated for a pair of Grammys for his work on the Black Eyed Peas chart-topping CD, The E.N.D.
