*As part of Black History Month, BET and Centric will broadcast “Ten9Eight: Shoot for the Moon,” a documentary that follows several inner city teens (of differing race, religion, and ethnicity) from Harlem to Compton and all points in between, as they compete in an annual business plan competition run by the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE).
The teens face 24,000 students nationwide, and what they learn along the way profoundly changes their lives and destinies.
The title “Ten9Eight” refers to the fact that every nine seconds a kid drops out of a U.S. high school.
The movie, from 50 Eggs Films, will air on Sunday, Feb. 7 at noon and Feb. 8 at 8 p.m. on BET and Centric as part of their special Black History Month programming.
