*Diddy shut Hollywood down at his post Grammy night party featuring his new men’s fragrance “I Am King.”
Well the king kept the mignons waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting.I had hoped to secure an interview. Readers may recall I wrote a huge coverage (EURweb) on his “Unforgiveable Woman” fragrance launch party that took place on-line in ’07 http://www.hiphop-elements.com/article/read/4/7043/1/
On this night, outside the famed club, cars were stopped on Sunset, media was out in droves, people were waiting on the sidelines behind partitions. I saw so many stars in Hollywood that couldn’t get in and many who were inside who couldn’t get a VIP bracelet to get to the coveted VIP area!! I won’t mention any names. (Trust me they were huge!!)
I forged through the crowd and of course made it to the “gold” carpet with my client in record speed. The problem was getting that little plastic bracelet that allows you all access. But, Kleo has her way to accomplish what needs to be accomplished inspite of excuses from event coordinators, that they ran out.
I met some very nice sponsors who were only too anxious to speak to me and my entourage and gave us all the wrist bands we needed. Yes, the Queen did get inside and did get her I.D. to the VIP area on the second level and picked up speed and people along the way.
Among the celebrities posted inside included: Niecy Nash, Ray J., Tony Rock, William Hanford Lee Jr., Tionne Williams, Hakeem Kae-Kazim, Quinton Aaron (The Blind Side), Ray J and Poprah. Cannot reveal who was on the outside looking in. I was truly stunned they were not being admitted.
If you like lightening, you would love this party. It was packed, packed, packed, jammed, jammed, jammed. The camera lights were blazing. I’m sure media outside needed a multiple receptor because every plug must have been surely full. The vibe was a scorcher. The VIP area was hot hot hot and the minute you reached the entrance it smelled like a crowded locker room at the gym, the day after Thanksgiving.
One enjoyable thing did stand out and that was the dancers. Diddy must love dancers because the girls on stage were smokin’. Dressed in fishnets, black boots, skimpy sexy apparel one dancer after another kept bumping all night long. Trust me on this one, these dancers were exceptional. Their long hair flying, butts in the air, legs working the floor.
Hmmm reminded me a little how J-Lo use to thump it up in her white tight fitting pants before she settled down into domesticity. Mrs. Marc Anthony’s “Get It Right” is one of my all time favorite dance jams. I always listen to it in the car as my pre-party hype.
At 12:45AM I could wait for Puff no longer to secure an interview.
The King can stay out all night but hear ye, hear yeeee people of Hollywoodland, Kleopatra Girl has got to get her beauty sleep. So I waved to the people on the way out who were calling my name (I felt badly I could not assist friends into the event) and got picked up by my Cadillac driving husband and it was off to the mansion. LOL, yeah right!
Diddy, P. Diddy, Puff, Sean, may you rule for years to come. Remember though a good king looks out for all the people of the realm. Kleo – Out!
