*There are whispers around Washington that Big Tigger left his afternoon drive slot at DC’s WPGC so that he can take over the morning slot previously vacated by radio legend Donnie Simpson.

Big Tig announced Friday that he was leaving the 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. shift and would be replaced by R&B singer Lil Mo, who had been a radio host at Baltimore’s 105.7 FM.

An official announcement has yet to be made about Simpson’s replacement, but Tigger said in his farewell message Friday: “Something big is headed to PGC mornings.”

He also said he’ll be hosting a television show titled “Direct Access With Big Tigger,” which is scheduled to premiere in April on DC’s CW station Channel 50/WDCW.

According to broadcasting industry blog DCTV.com, the search is underway for a female morning co-host for Big Tigger, and so far “a BET personality” has passed on the offer.

Meanwhile, Lil Mo will juggle her DC job with recording an album due later this year under her new deal with Soul World Entertainment.
