*Just because President Obama is set to sign health-care reform into law this morning doesn’t mean Republicans are going to give up their fight against it.
In addition to supporting the cases of a dozen state attorney generals, who are challenging the constitutionality of the individual mandate, the GOP will do everything in its power to block the reconciliation “fix-it” package in the Senate.
Their stalling tactics got off on poor footing, however: The Senate parliamentarian rejected a Republican argument that changes to the so-called Cadillac tax were outside the purview of reconciliation.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, meanwhile, is moving quickly: He hopes to bring up the reconciliation package on the Senate floor on Tuesday afternoon and is eyeing Friday or Saturday for a vote.
