*The Rev. Jesse Jackson, Cornel West and Minister Louis Farrakhan were among the religious leaders who joined Tavis Smiley in Chicago to record a broadcast on the African American Agenda, reports Gospel Today.com.
The “We Count” event is scheduled to appear on the C-Span network on Monday, March 29, 2010 at 8:30 PM and takes place amidst a growing controversy among African American leaders regarding the correct posture that Blacks should take toward the president and his hesitancy to spearhead a Black Agenda.
While the stock and popularity of several civil rights leaders took a hit during the presidential campaign, voices like that of Jesse Jackson maintain that a conversation of public policy and the African American community is still a healthy and much needed exercise.
