Actor Mathew St. Patrick turns 42 today.

Just like the headline says, this page/board is where you can discuss the stuff that we didn’t cover in today’s issue. (It’s sort of like feedback with a twist) Remember, NO name calling, racial taunting, graphic sex talk and vulgarity in general, PLEASE.

Today’s ‘Live Better With Willie Jolley’ Tip: Look for Opportunities

Today’s tip for success is focused on helping you overcome this challenging economy. It is taken from my new book, Turn Setbacks Into Greenbacks. I realize there are some challenges out in the business world; but wherever there are challenges, there are opportunities. I am planning to work hard and find those opportunities and I cannot find any opportunities if I continue to look at the situation as being hopeless. Be like Hannibal, the great African military man, who said, “If you cannot find a way, make a way!” Hannibal could find no way to defeat the Romans with a frontal attack, so he did the unthinkable: he used African elephants to transport his troops over the Alps and attacked the Romans from the rear. He defeated them because where there was no opportunity; he decided to create one.

Now is the time to create some great new opportunities. I realized that part of the reason this man’s business was suffering was because he was dwelling on the negatives about business rather than the positives. If you focus on the negative points in your life, those are what will grow. But the same is true for the positive. Be aware of the negative issues, but focus on the positive- the possibilities. Whatever you focus on longest becomes strongest. Whatever you think and talk about is what you will become. Make a point that you will not sign up, line up, or whine up about the recession. Stand up and fight for your dreams and goals, and never, ever give up on you and the incredible possibilities that are within you!
