*Zach Randolph of the Memphis Grizzlies is allegedly moonlighting as a drug kingpin in Indiana.
No charges have been filed against the Marion, Indiana native, but according to the Indianapolis Star, a detective is calling him a “major marijuana supplier” and “financier for known drug dealers in Indianapolis.”
Randolph has been linked to Arthur Boyd, 32, who was arrested on suspicion of possession and dealing of marijuana. Police say when Boyd was arrested he was driving a 2008 Cadillac Escalade registered to Randolph.
Police found more than three ounces of marijuana in the Escalade, according to the court documents. The documents also say the Escalade had two hidden compartments. Such compartments are commonly used by drug traffickers to stash narcotics, according to the document.
Police seized the Escalade and three of Randolph’s custom Chevrolet Impalas that were in a Hamilton County storage facility, which also was registered to Randolph.
Duhamell said authorities have begun forfeiture procedures because they think the vehicles were used to aid the criminal drug-dealing operation.
Randolph has been arrested numerous times throughout his life, including a marijuana arrest when he was with the Portland Trailblazers. Last year, he was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving.
