*A song from Fantasia Barrino about the luck of a woman who has a man she covets, then, her own luck for eventually taking him – at least for one night, was leaked onto the Internet this week amid the artist’s similar real life drama.
The Kandi Burruss-written single, which some YouTubers are labeling “Homewrecker’s Anthem,” is not among the tracks listed for Fantasia’s third album, “Back to Me,” due Aug. 24 on J Records. And there’s no word if the song was intended for the album, yet pulled following her sex tape scandal with a married man. [Listen to the track below.]
Meanwhile, just weeks after her medication overdose, Barrino will hit the road to promote “Back to Me” with a series of stops on the talk show circuit.
The “American Idol” champ will perform on “Good Morning America” on Aug. 24, “Lopez Tonight” on Aug. 25, “106 & Park” on Sept. 8, “Live with Regis & Kelly” on Sept. 9 and “The Wendy Williams Show” on Sept. 10.
Barrino will also appear at Steve Harvey’s Ford Hoodie Awards on Aug. 28 and Tom Joyner’s Family Reunion on Sept. 4.
“I can’t thank my fans enough for their prayers and support during such a challenging time. It has given me the motivation to get back to work and honor the commitments I made to promote ‘Back To Me,'” Fantasia said in a statement. “I put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into this album and I pray that everyone enjoys it as much as I do.”
The promotional campaign comes after a tumultuous week in which Barrino was accused of having an affair and filming a sex tape with married man Antwaun Cook. The singer was subsequently hospitalized for overdosing on aspirin and a sleep aid, and then released last Wednesday (Aug. 11).
“Back To Me,” Barrino first album since 2006’s “Fantasia,” features production and songwriting work from Ne-Yo and Jim Jonsin, and a guest appearance by Cee-Lo Green, reports Billboard. “Bittersweet,” the album’s lead single, also notches Barrino her third No. 1 on the Adult R&B radio airplay chart, as it jumps 4-1 this week, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
