Matt Cusson

*The Spectra Records™ Jazz division (Spectra Jazz) has signed a worldwide distribution deal with the John Lennon Songwriting Contest and “Maxell Song of the Year” winner, Matt Cusson for his single composition “One Of Those Nights.”

The song was voted best song in its jazz category. Matt Cusson, the talented singer/pianist and songwriter from Massachusetts, has toured and worked with performers such as Jessica Simpson, James and Livingston Taylor, Bebe Winans, Babyface, and most recently R&B singer Brian McKnight.

Though his style is diversified, he has a hidden panache for jazz, based on observations by judges of the 2008 John Lennon Songwriting contest including Jesse Harris (Diana Krall’s “Don’t Know Why”), Bob Weir (Grateful Dead founding member) and superstar songwriter Lamont Dozier.

During a 2009 Brian McKnight concert in Dallas, Matt was presented with the $20,000 “Maxell Song of the Year” award by the John Lennon Songwriting contest Executive Director, Brian Rothschild and Maxell President, Masuru Kamemoto.

Cusson is currently touring with the international “Man in the Mirror” tour, paying tribute to the late Michael Jackson.

The single release date is tentatively scheduled for mid-September, 2010.
