*Mehcad Brooks may have gotten knocked down with the cancellation of his ABC drama “My Generation,” but he is a persistent man and will be doing something new.
The former “True Blood” star and CK underwear spokesman will be co-staring in USA Network’s pilot “Necessary Roughness.”
The show follows Danielle Santino, a sexy Long Island divorcee played by Callie Thomas, who becomes a therapist for a professional football team to make ends meet.
Like his former jock character Rolly, on “Generation,” the 30-year-old NAACP Image Award nominee will play another athlete in ‘Roughness.’ This time as one of Danielle’s clients, a star wide receiver who has a streak of trouble with the law. Though his character is upset about being forced into counseling with Danielle, he ends up bonding with her.
Brooks is on a roll and won’t let a pesky cancelation hold him back.
