*Jay-Z has exposed just about everything in his recently released memoir, “Decoded.”

In the book, the rapper let out some emotional baggage and admitted that at the age of 12, he shot his drug-addicted brother.

He told The Guardian’s “Weekend” magazine that he opened fire after his brother stole a ring from him.

“I thought my life was over,” Jay-Z reveals. “I thought I’d go to jail forever.”

Obviously he didn’t go away to jail forever. In fact, his brother forgave him and apologized about the drug issues when young Shawn Carter visited his big brother in the hospital.

An account of the ordeal can be heard on Jay’s track ‘You Must Love Me,’ as he raps, “Saw the devil in your eyes, high off more than weed, confused, I just closed my young eyes and squeezed.”

Jay-Z also revealed that as a child, drugs and guns were easy to come by growing up in Bed-Stuy projects.

“Guns were everywhere,” the 40-year-old star explained. “You didn’t have to go far to get one. Just everywhere. [Guns] were around every day. There were shootouts, but I never shot anyone else. Most people in shootouts don’t get shot.”
