*50 Cent is expanding his music empire with the launch of new label GNote Records, reports allhiphop.com.
The venture is 50’s second imprint following G-Unit Records in 2003 with his manager Sha Money XL. The label made headlines in August when 50 ended its deal with Interscope Records and signed a new distribution deal with executives at EMI.
Four months later, GNote Records is a done deal with Phoenix, Arizona rapper Hot Rod as its first signed artist.
Confirming the news on his Twitter Friday (Dec. 17), 50 wrote, “@officialhotrod is the first artist of G NOTE he gonna do his numbers watch.”
