*Aretha Franklin’s health issues have worried the heck out of her fan base recently as rumors began floating around about her condition. But she finally spoke out about her health, clearing it all up.

“Well, there was just so many wild things out there and just so many things being said that weren’t true,” Aretha said to Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson in an interview Thursday. “I just felt I needed to address it a little… I went through a number of procedures before I knew what was wrong”

She added that a pain in her side was beginning to catch her attention. After performing in a few concerts, it became so bad she had to quit. But she clarified that it wasn’t pancreatic cancer.

“I don’t know where ‘pancreatic cancer’ came from,” she said. “I was sitting there reading the newspaper and it was saying someone in my family said that … No one in my family ever said that to anybody.”

The concern was so intense around the nation that the president of the United States himself wrote her a personal letter.

After surgery, the Queen of Soul, 68, said her doctor said she’s got 15 to 20 years of life added, especially with her weight coming down.

“I’m down to a rockin’ [size] 16 – 18,” she said excited. “Oh, I’m comin’ with it, OK?!? It’s getting better every day. I plan on keeping this weight that I have now — I’m so happy with it.”

Her concerts will begin again in May.
