*Electric Life/DIOS Music recording artist Derek McKeith (pictured) and Traveling Guitar Foundation founder/guitarist Damon Marks recently completed a brief tour of public schools in Los Angeles.

Students at Willowbrook Middle School, Frank Del Olmo Elementary School and the Los Angeles Center for Enriched Studies were treated to musical performances by McKeith, Marks, 16-year-old pop singer/guitarist Tiffany Araya, rock guitarist Vince Genella and special guests Yashi Brown (Michael Jackson’s niece; Rebbie’s daughter) and Nickelodeon star “Cat” (from the sitcom “Victorious”) Ariana Grande.

The Traveling Guitar Foundation donated five Dean Guitars to each of the schools, along with Line 6 Amps and Mogami Cables.

McKeith, who is also Director, West Coast programs, TGF, surprised the faculty and students at his alma mater, the Los Angeles Center for Enriched Studies, when he walked onstage to perform for them with his band. McKeith’s video “Can’t Get Enough” was a #1 hit on BET’s “Soul Sessions Top Ten Countdown.” His current CD, “The Signature,” is in stores now.

Prior to the trip to Los Angeles, the TGF representatives presented a similar program for 800 middle and high school students at the Cicely L. Tyson Community School of Performing and Fine Arts in East Orange, NJ. To date they have appeared before several thousand students and campers throughout the country.

The Traveling Guitar Foundation welcomes Jim Urie (President & CEO, Universal Music Group Distribution), Trevor Gale (Sr VP Writer/Publisher Relations, Sesac) and EURweb’s Lee Bailey to its Board of Advisors.  Other industry veterans lending their support to the foundation include Bon Jovi founder/keyboardist David Bryan, Ralph “Uncle Ralph” McDaniels (Video Music Box/KISS-FM), in addition to Sandra Trim-DaCosta (Executive Director) and Anre’ “NJ Rey” DaCosta (Director, Business Development)
