*(Los Angeles) – Multi-talented musician Wayne Linsey, keyboardist for the Jay Leno Tonight Show Band is on a roll.

Back by popular demand is his brainchild, “A Playa’s Gotta Play,” a night of music to give top musicians a place to hang, play and have a good time.

On Wednesday, May 11, 2011. Linsey presents “A Playa’s Gotta Play” at the legendary Catalina Jazz Club, (6725 W. Sunset Blvd, Hollywood) at 8:00 PM.

This month’s house band will include: drummer extraordinaire Teddy Campbell, Latin percussionist Kevin Ricard, renown Ethan Farmer on bass, dynamic Eric Walls on guitar and Wayne Linsey on keyboards.

Famous musicians that will be in the audience will be chosen to join the house band on stage for this unique jam session – from there everything is spontaneous.

This concept by Linsey began while he was on tour with Whitney Houston in Santiago, Chile.  While there he went to this club that had a spirit and life of its own.  He wanted to bring that memory home and “A Playa’s Gotta Play” was born.  It began at Center Staging club and became of its popularity he had to look for a bigger club.  He found that home at the Catalina Jazz Club in Hollywood.

Some of the musicians who have joined the jam session in the past include; George Duke, Stevie Wonder, Ricky Minor, Paul Jackson Jr, Kenny Garrett, Sheila E, Deniece Williams and James Ingram.  “A Playa ‘s Gotta Play” is for any musician who is in Los Angeles area or willing to take the stage for an impromptu Jazz session.
