*Los Angeles – Leslie Gay, an outspoken Los Angeles-area entertainment publicist, was one of nine participants chosen to participate in the new Live Well Network and ABC7 Los Angeles reality weight loss show, Live Big with Ali Vincent.

The show helps people live the “big life” by supporting them in their weight loss journey.

Hosted by Ali Vincent, the first female to win The Biggest Loser, having lost 112 pounds, she uses her own experiences to motivate contestants to achieve their fitness and personal goals.

As a participant, Gay intends to use this opportunity to lose weight and educate herself about diabetes and high blood pressure and share the knowledge with others in the African American communities, all health issues that have affected both sides of her family.

The series, which is currently airing on the Live Well Network, and on ABC7 Los Angeles at midnight following ABC7 Eyewitness News at 11pm.

Gay is an experienced entertainment publicist with an enviable rolodex of contacts. She most recently worked as a publicist at The FrontPage Firm where she secured media coverage for celebrity and corporate clients in some of the leading news and entertainment outlets. “I’m excited to embark on this new phase of my life.  I’ve struggled with weight most of my life and this is an opportunity to lose weight without a quick fix or a fad diet, all while getting educated about health and fitness,” said Leslie Gay. “I’m not just doing this to look good, but to feel good – inside and out. My family suffers from diabetes and high blood pressure, as do many in the African-American community.”

Added Gay, “This is a preventative measure, and I want to be sure others take the same steps I am to live a healthy life. I’m grateful that I was chosen to participate in the show, as my life is changing everyday with the help of Ali and my 24 Hour Fitness trainer Katy McGillen .”

Gay’s workout and food regimen is specifically structured to suit her needs and includes several workouts a week and monitoring calorie intake. Her overall goal is to lose weight permanently and to get healthy. Gay and other participants will be opening themselves up and letting everyone watch their struggles on their weight loss journey.  Viewers can catch Gay’s episode October 2, 2011 at 12am on ABC.

Live Big with Ali Vincent has teamed up with 24 Hour Fitness to provide select show participants with a one year membership and 50 sessions from a certified personal trainer.  Before starting any diet or fitness program, Live Big with Ali Vincent participants undergo medical and psychological screenings by weight loss specialist Dr. Carson D.
