*The untimely death of superstar Whitney Houston has rekindled interest in a five year-old tribute song called “Whitney Please Come Back.”

Penned by singer/songwriter Stacey Dove Daniels (who also wrote Houston’s hit Deborah Cox duet, “Same Script, Different Cast”) “Whitney Please Come Back” is an introspective first-person ballad that would have had Houston thanking her family and fans for their love while imploring them for continued prayer.

Dove wrote the song when Houston was struggling to put her life and career back on track.  But the Grammy-winner never recorded the tune, and that saddens the songwriter.

“I sincerely believed it was truth enough to make her realize her worth.  She would have been singing to come back to herself,” says Dove, who has worked with Montell Jordan, Tamia, Ja Rule and Kelly Price among others.

A demo recording of “Whitney Please Come Back” has garnered widening attention from fans and music industry professionals in the days since Houston’s sudden passing.  Dove’s Twitter page crashed under an avalanche of hits.  Now, the song is available on a dedicated web site,
