*With the game changing releases and power moves the mogul has been making, its no wonder we missed it when Jay Z eliminated the hyphen from his name.
Around the same time his album “Watch the Throne” dropped so did the dash in between “Jay-Z” in which the icon now goes by Jay Z.
Here’s a Twitter reaction from Billboard editor Joe Levy:
Joe Levy @RealJoeLevy : “Breaking: Jay Z has dropped the hyphen from his name, according to his label. I am not kidding. (Wish I was.) Copy editors: take note.”
But don’t feel bad for this oversight, as even Roc Nation was confused with Jay Z listed as Jay-Z on the album cover for 2009’s “The Blueprint 3,” but not elsewhere on the record.
