Franco Harris*The Pittsburgh Opera says the Steelers’ Hall of Famer Franco Harris will be featured in its season-opening production of “Aida.”

During the second act, Harris will be in a silent, ceremonial role “Champion of Champions.” The production will begin Oct 12.

Harris won four Super Bowls with the Steelers. More recently, the former Penn State star has been an outspoken supporter of the late coach, Joe Paterno, who lost his job in the wake of the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse scandal.


*Lil Wayne opened up to Katie Couric about how his mother actually encouraged him to leave high school to continue pursuing his music career.

“It was my mom’s idea. I had an album out; it was platinum already–thank God–and I was still trying to go regular public school,’” Wayne told Katie Couric.

Wayne says his mother made the decision after she witnessed him stuffing a gun into his backpack one morning before school. At first she questioned his need to bring such a thing to school, but then instructed him to put it in his bag for protection.

Not long after, Wayne said she made a much different declaration for his own safety, “She said, ‘You don’t go to school no more. You’re getting a GED,’” “So I went and got a GEd and I went to college.
