*Rihanna continues her reign at the top breaking yet another record. Yes, 2013 was a very good year for RiRi career wise.
Her most recent album “Unapologetic” went platinum marking it the sixth time the singer has received platinum certification. Add to that her unseating of Justin Bieber for the most viewed musician/artist on YouTube.
A fan tweeted Rihanna the numbers on YouTube, and the singer quickly retweeted the good news. “Rihanna is now the most viewed artist/musician on @Vevo – passing Justin Bieber (again),” the tweet read.
Earlier this year in April, the Barbadian singer became the first artist in the 20-year history of Billboard‘s Nielsen BDS-based Pop Songs radio airplay chart to tally 10 No. 1s.
Rihanna has topped the charts with 8,644,275 subscribers and 3,776,158 views. The “Pour It Up” singer is still out on her “Diamonds World Tour.” Her next stop is Birmingham’s LG Arena.

Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams released an alternate version of the very popular “Blurred Lines” music video, which made a lot of men happy. In this version the same models from the first video are featured, but this go around they bare thongs and nothing else.
According to Pharrell, the controversial video was meant to be a work of art, not something to simply arouse or stimulate the audience.
“It’s really funny because at no point were there any kisses between the girls they just had their tops off,” Pharrell told HipHollywood during the press day for Despicable Me 2. ”Our goal was to make a moving editorial, so it was really like a fashion shoot.”
As previously reported there was a lot of controversy surrounding Thicke’s song and video with YouTube banning the original version. An angry fan actually called the message of the song “Rapey” in a video message.
