coinye west,*Not saying they’re gold diggers, but they wasn’t messing with a broke…

Kanye West and attorney, Brad Rose, filed cease-and-desist papers against the makers of Coinye West — who knew exactly what they were doing by punning the superstar’s trademark name and style.

However, the new currency and its coders could care less about shut down attempts — having already launched!

The new currency maker started off as a “joke” (or smart money maker yet bad idea) to an internet sensation on Facebook and Twitter. But trademark infringement isn’t any laughing matter.

West’s face is used for the currency and the currency’s name itself is a pun on West’s name — making a case for the trademark infringement, which could cause confusion in West’s involvement with the currency.

West’s attorney is coming for the seven anonymous coders of the currency,  “Given Mr. West’s wide-ranging entrepreneurial accomplishments, consumers are likely to mistakenly believe that Mr. West is the source of your services,” Rose said.

“Notify the cryptocurrency community at large of your infringing actions and pursue all legal remedies against any business that accepts the purported COINYE WEST currency,” Rose added — speaking of what he’ll do about the situation.

Yet the coders don’t care all that much — expecting they would potentially be shutdown with the name; they thought it would be clever to push the catchy name for an online following.

“We said Coinye West and we were like, ‘Holy… we gotta make that,’” one of the coders wrote. “We want to release this to the public before the man can try to crush it. They’ll still come after us, but that’s OK.”
