*News broke over the weekend that “Basketball Wives” star Malaysia Pargo filed for divorce from her husband, Charlotte Hornets player Jannero Pargo. But despite airing him out on social media, she tells TMZ that her divorce is not as nasty as it seems, and she still wants to be friends after the split.
Malaysia, real name Laquisha Pargo, filed for divorce in L.A. County Superior Court, citing irreconcilable differences, TMZ reported. They have three children together, a 7-year-old and 3-year-old twins.
She’s seeking sole legal and physical custody, with Jannero getting visitation. Malaysia also wants Jannero to pay spousal support and her lawyer fees.
In the docs, Malaysia states they were married back in 2006 but separated on December 27, 2012.
Since January of this year, the two have been commenting on their relationship via social media, beginning with a post from Jannero quoting a Jay Z song. It read: “S*** i got 2 liv wit the fact i did u wrong 4ever.”
He also posted a photo with the caption, “Once a good girl has gone bad, she’s gone forever.”
Malaysia shot back, “Don’t worry, I’m not f*** up about it. At All. Carry on. God bless.”
She then posted a photo of her own with a caption that read, “Forgive, not because they deserve forgiveness but because you deserve peace.”
On Tuesday, TMZ reported that Malaysia is not anticipating a nasty divorce battle. She told the website that she and Jannero are keeping things civil for the good of their three children — and are committed to not only being civil toward each other, but friendly.
“Our family is our top priority and while we have decided to amicably go our separate way,” Malaysia says, “We are both committed parents and plan to remain friends as we co-parent our three children. At this time we do not wish to discuss the details of our divorce. We ask that you keep our family in your prayers.”
