*Looks like Ray Rice is getting off without any major punishment for domestic violence charges.
In February, he beat up his fiancee Janay Palmer — who he later married — at the Revel Casino in Atlantic City, NJ — dragging her unconscious body out of an elevator.
But the running back struck a deal with prosecutors for no jail time for the incident. There’s somewhat of a catch though! Rice entered a pretrial intervention program.
This program allows defendants to avoid prosecution pending the completion of a specific set of rehabilitative conditions. Rice must stay out of trouble during the one-year program.
His attorney spoke with ESPN, “we’re very happy with the result. We’re glad that the court and the prosecutor’s office agreed PTI was the appropriate disposition for the case.” Rice and Palmer are together — having married on March 28, 2014.
