*Filmmaker / photographer Darius Anthony (pictured) passed away on Friday (05 -09-14) at the age of 60 from complications of cancer.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Anthony was bitten early by the industry bug. After studying photography in college he worked as a photo assistant for Rock and Roll impresario, photographer Norman Seeff at his infamous Sunset Boulevard studio, adjacent to the notorious Chateau Marmont.

Working with Seeff allowed Darius to gain critical lighting and people skills that would prove invaluable later in his career. While assisting he worked with many top names in the business, including such notables such as John Belushi, Tina Turner, Jane Fonda, Rod Stewart, Blondie, Michael Jackson, The Rolling Stones, and hundreds of other top-notch artists.

According to legendary photographer and filmmaker  Bobby Holland of Cymarron West Inc., a memorial web page has been started at mylifeline.org. Click HERE for the Darius Anthony page.

Below is a remembrance from his partner, Michael D. Schultz:

My business partner, my writing partner, and my best friend, my film ninja,

Darius Anthony passed away from cancer complications. He fought crazy hard till the end. And I loved him.

He made me smarter and more aware of the world around me, a talented photographer with an amazing eye for the world and his craft, an inspired writer and filmmaker with a definitive style and vision, an amazing father, husband and friend.

He was one the most smart, special and spiritual men I ever met. He was my brother and the creative yin to my yang.

We made so much good work together,
Some of the best of my career.

He will be missed every day.
