If you didn’t catch or if you did catch the opening of Sunday’s Tony Awards show on CBS, you are in for a treat.
Fantasia Barrino, Patti LaBelle and Gladys Knight, who all star in “After Midnight,” brought the house down as they sang the classic tune “On the Sunny Side of the Street,” followed by an equally incredible dance ditty from the Broadway musical.
To be honest, we were kind of concerned when we heard that Fanny was slated to share the stage with the two legends. Even though she’s good, would she be able to hang with Patti and Gladys? Yep, she absolutely can. No doubt about. Just check out the video below.
BTW, Fantasia will be ending her run on the Tony-nominated musical as of today (06-09-14). LaBelle takes over from June 10-29, and Knight from July 8 through August 3. Natalie Cole will make her debut August 5-31.
