And that’s exactly what happens when one of the biggest names in football teams up with one of the biggest names in basketball.
Both Cleveland Browns quarterback Manziel and Miami Heat forward James are signed under the same marketing umbrella, Maverick Carter‘s LRMR.
“A bond formed in grade school, a partnership forged from loyalty,” read LRMR’s website with Carter and James beside each other in flashy suits.
Manziel and James’ bond didn’t start during childhood, but it started during Manziel’s sophomore year at Texas A&M.
“When you look at who the best player in the NBA is right now, you look at LeBron and somebody who is at the top of his game and does so much marketing-wise,” Manziel said.
James did Manziel’s signature handshake and wore “Money Manziel” t-shirt in photo posted on Manziel’s Instagram.
James also was one of the first to wear Manziel’s No. 2 — Nike — Browns jersey
This isn’t the first time obviously their paths crossed using the tools of marketing. They did a McDonald’s commercial together.
