*Lupita Nyong’o keeps winning! First she won the Oscar for “12 Years a Slave” earlier this year. And she’s outdoing herself as a fashion icon. And as previously reported… She garnered the film rights to adapt Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie‘s best-selling novel, “Americanah.” Nyong’o might have hit the goldmine — being that “Americanah” received rave reviews upon its release last year. The book is about a young Nigerian woman who travels to the US for an university education and tells how she’s dealing with issues of immigration, identity and dignity. Adichie said Nyong’o loved the book back in March, and they had a big announcement they would reveal soon. “Lupita was a very early fan of ‘Americanah,'” Adichie told Arise Entertainment 360. “And so before she was sort of well-known in the way that she is now, she wrote me … the loveliest email, a very long and passionate email about ‘Americanah.'” As for Adichie and her ability to write strong female characters, it’s pretty simple. “Strong women aren’t remarkable to me they are the norm. I grew up surrounded by strong women.” Hmm… sounds like this could be a match made in movie heaven.
