*For the latest on the condition of actor/comedian Tracy Morgan, we refer you to this statement from his rep:
“While Tracy remains in critical condition, he has been more responsive today, which is an incredibly encouraging sign,” said rep Lewis Kay in a Sunday statement. “He sustained a number of injuries including a broken leg, a broken femur, a broken nose and several broken ribs. He had surgery earlier today on his leg. We expect him to remain in the hospital for several weeks. His family is tremendously overwhelmed and appreciative of the outpouring of love and support from his fans.”
As we reported, late Friday night/early Saturday morning, a Mercedes Sprinter SUV limousine (limo-bus) carrying Morgan and comedians Ardie Fuqua and Harris Stanton was involved in a six-vehicle accident.
As of this posting, Fuqua’s reps have not yet issued a statement regarding his condition. However, as we also reported earlier, comic and close friend of Morgan, James McNair, died of injuries sustained in the crash.
As far as the driver of the limousine, he “did not sustain life-threatening injuries,” according to a statement from the limo company, Atlantic Transportation Services. The limo driver, Tyrone Gale, said that he heard the comedian (Morgan) call for help after the collision.
“I saw the condition of everybody and I knew it would just make it worse if I tried to pull them up and out of the vehicle,” Gale told ABC News.
Additionally, as we reported, a Georgia man, 35-year-old tractor-trailer truck driver, Kevin Roper, was charged with one count of death by auto and four counts of assault by auto, the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office stated. His bail was set at $50,000.
