*Montel Williams no longer has his own talk show, but he does remain vocal on pressing American issues — especially issues about Veteran Affairs.

Williams is not only formerly a talk show host, but he’s a retired Marine veteran and naval officer.

He stopped by HuffPost Live and shared his passionate thoughts about how Congress, the White House and President Barack Obama are failing American veterans and their rights. He’s not only calling out the government, but the so-called veteran “supporters” aren’t any better — lacking advocacy on veteran issues and rights.

Williams criticized Congress for delayed legislative action.

He said, “put their tail between their legs and ran out of town claiming that they need to do something for the 4th of July, a celebration that they are having based on the lives of people who protected them.”

He added, “before they [Congressional members] get back, let’s go with ten days, put it two hundred soldiers are going to take their lives. Or they’re going to die from inadequate care.”

Nevertheless, Williams is not only speaking from a political standpoint, but from human interest. Hence, that’s why he called out those so-called supporters who aren’t advocating.

“We’re all caught up in politics, and guess what, the soldier right now who’s on that battlefield in Afghanistan, he’s not thinking ‘republican,’ ‘democrat,’ ‘president.’ He’s probably thinking, ‘I want to come home alive…’ about their family they left behind,” he said.

He continued with, “they’re thinking about doing a job that they put their hand up to and said, ‘I solemnly swear and affirm that I will defend the the constitution of the United States.’ That’s what’s in their hearts.”
