*The fallout from Young Jeezy recent encounter with California authorities is started to take shape as the AK-47 police were seeking did not belong to the 36-year-old rap star.
TMZ reports the weapon is legally registered to the head of security for Jeezy’s tour, who was not present the night authorities seized the weapon. The security chief was actually in the hospital during that time after being shot in the arm at 10ak nightclub the night before.
Sources tell TMZ the security chief was caught in the crossfire when rap mogul Suge Knight was shot 6 times at the club, which was the location for a pre-MTV Video Music Awards party. The site obtained video of the security chief leaving the club with his arm wrapped up.
News of the true owner of the gun comes days after Jeezy was arrested and charged with illegal possession of an AK-47 assault rifle after police seized the weapon in a search of the entertainer’s tour bus on Aug. 24 in Irvine, CA. The search was part of an investigation into the shooting death of a nightclub promoter in Mountain View, CA. Jeezy and five people in his entourage were put in jail after no one claimed ownership of the AK-47.
As it stands now, serious questions are being raised about Jeezy’s arrest. TMZ spoke with law enforcement sources who revealed that the AK-47 was not found anywhere near the rapper. In addition, the weapon was in a closed case in an area associated with someone other than Jeezy, who was in a separate cabin of the bus where no weapons were found.
TMZ noted official reports related to the arrest, which indicate the arresting officers were repeatedly told the registered owner of the weapon was the tour security chief, and that he was hospitalized.
Since posting $1 million cash bond for himself and his entourage, Young Jeezy has been out on tour promoting his latest album, “Seen It All.”
