*During the latest flare up in Ferguson this week, sparked by the burning of Michael Brown’s memorial, several police officers were reportedly spotted with bracelets supporting the cop who gunned down the unarmed teen.
As police officers used force to quell the crowds, some officers were seen wearing bracelets bearing the phrase “I Am Darren Wilson.” The bracelets were photographed by protesters and originally posted to MediaBlackOutUSA.
As previously reported, five people were arrested as tensions flared again on Tuesday over the burning down of Brown’s makeshift memorial. CNN reports that protesters were “threatening officers, shooting at them, throwing rocks and bottles, and one person tossed a Molotov cocktail at a parking structure.”
The cause of the blaze remains under investigation. In a statement, Police Chief Thomas Jackson said one of his sergeants responded to the fire and attempted to put it out with a portable fire extinguisher before alerting the Fire Department.
“We’re all saddened by the fire that was reported at one of the Michael Brown memorials this morning and are trying to obtain as much information as possible to determine what happened,” the statement said.
