Suicide Suspected In Simone Battle Death

*It looks like another entertainment industry suicide has happened.

Simone Battle, who came to prominence via the US version of “X Factor” as a finalist and went on to become a member in the girl group G.R.L., has died, it was confirmed Saturday.

Battle, 25, was found dead in her West Hollywood apartment on Friday morning.

Lt. W. Nash of the sheriff’s West Hollywood station told City News Service that deputies were dispatched to the home in the 9000 block of Dorrington Avenue following a report of a “possible suicide.” CBSLA.com is reporting that an autopsy was expected to be conducted on Sunday (09-07-14) to determine the cause of death.

“We are deeply saddened by the tragic news of the loss of Simone Battle of G.R.L. Simone was an exceptional young talent and human being, and we are all devastated to learn of her passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and loved ones at this time,” Reign Deer Entertainment, Robin Antin, Kemosabe Records, and RCA Records told ETOnline.com in a statement.

According to Simone’s father she never once let on that anything was wrong as her career began to blossom.

Anthony Battle told TMZ that he and his daughter hadn’t spoke on the phone in a few weeks, but they did text each other every day and she seemed to be doing just fine.

He says Simone was excited about where her career was heading. G.R.L. had recorded and released a song with Pitbull earlier this year.

Even close friends of the singer who communicated with her via text the night before her death also didn’t sense anything was wrong.
