*His distinctive voice helped pioneer hip-hop.
And now Big Daddy Kane is lending his voice to pioneer a documentary series, “Being” on Centric.
His distinct baritone voice might put him in the ranks of Morgan Freeman or James Earl Jones in documentary voiceover narration department.
“Through rap I have always told stories and my work with BEING is an opportunity to not only tell a story but to also share history and the highs and lows of some very talented personalities and cultural icons,” Big Daddy Kane said.
The show will chronicle African American celebrities struggles and triumphs to success.
Wendy Williams, Chaka Khan, Al Sharpton, Dionne Warwick, Donnie McClurkin, Ruben Studdard and more have been and will be featured on the series.
The series interviews each celebrity telling the audience about ‘being’ in the their stages in their career while Big Daddy Kane narrates. Interviews from family, friends and associates is also featured — so is archival footage of each celebrity.
The docu-series “Being” is seen on Centric.
