Ebola Fighters - A Note to Santa (A TAYO Fatunla Cartoon)

*TIME magazine has named EBOLA Fighters, Person of the Year for 2014.

You probably have been living on another planet not to have known of this disease that has been ruthless in the West African region and worst in Sierra Leone.

I sat through my favourite news reporting program the Channel 4 News UK to fill me in as to how thousands were dying and are still dying of this disease.

To the West, there was need to assist in helping curtail this disease and one Charity organisation has been at the forefront of tackling the spread of the virus….Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders). Before the world paid attention to the need to be involved and help, this organisation was already in West Africa trying to help.

Ebola has affected severely family and community structures, forcing people to stop what was once natural to them, such gestures as caring for their sick relatives, shaking of hands or paying their last respects to the deceased. Its become a taboo just like many others including AIDS.

I usually try to guess who TIME will name Person of the Year… Médecins Sans Frontières  are EBOLA fighters as well, so I was spot on.
