*Michael Vick has played in only 9 games for the 3-11 New York Jets this season, but the former Virginia Tech quarterback believes he could be a starter for another franchise next season

“I can be the face of any franchise,” he told Newsday. “Hopefully, there will be an opportunity for me in 2015. And that’s what I’m looking forward to.”

While Vick will take any team who will take him, there’s only one the native Virginian dreams about: the Washington Redskins.

“I’m open to playing for anybody that wants to win,” said the former Philadelphia Eagles and Atlanta Falcons star. “But obviously, going back home, I mean, that’ll be a dream come true,” he said, smiling again. “But I would hate to get my hopes up for something that wouldn’t happen. So I can’t even think about it right now.”

And while the 34-year-old Vick would obviously enjoy playing for his hometown team, he admits reuniting with former Eagles’ receiver DeSean Jackson is something the duo talked about, even discussing a possible reunion this past season in New York before DeSean opted to go to DC instead.

As for the quarterbacking situation down in Washington, Robert Griffin III, the man they bet the farm on, is expected to make the start on Saturday against the Eagles, but there’s no guarantee he will start in 2015.

Vick has thrown for just 604 yards in 2014 with a not-very-impressive 52.9 completion percentage. There were 58 other quarterbacks in the league this season who had a better QB rating than Vick’s 68.3.
