*(Detroit, MI) Detroit has been home to some of the world’s best music for generations. Now, local favorite ZanYé digs deep into the Motown catalog for a ballroom-ready reboot of the 1970 Four Tops classic “Still Water (Love).” ZanYé’s update of the Smokey Robinson penned smash takes aim at urban dance floors – specifically the Ballroom/Steppers sets with it’s steady groove and jazzy melody.
Renamed “Still Waters (Run Deep),” it’s the first taste from her third CD, “Ballroom Paradise” where she’s giving you tracks that bounce back and make you want to dance for the sheer joy of living and celebrating life. “Still Waters (Run Deep)” is available wherever digital music is sold August 28, 2015.
ZanYé (pronounced: ZAHN-yay) Such a strong name… meaning “God Is Gracious” She is not afraid to be real. She also knows that the flip-side to hard times is Joy. And to get there, and stay there, sometimes we have to talk things out.
Her prior release “Conversations” (SoundThought Recordings), was about relationships, the good, the bad; relationships with life, and romantic relationships – what it takes to stay in one, and keep the fire burning. ZanYé has always offered songs that dive below the surface and sings of the all too well-known emotions of what love really is with songs like “Crazy Love,” “Extra Ordinary,” “I’m Gonna Keep Ya,” and “Mistake.”
Preparing to release her third CD, there is no better time for “Ballroom Paradise” (I Believe Music/HRJ Media LLC.). Her aim is to create songs that are upbeat, fun and soulful.
Music that would make you want to get out of your seat and dance. On “Ballroom Paradise” she’s changing the conversation once again, giving you tracks that bounce back and make you want to dance for the sheer joy of living and celebrating life.
“Still Water (Runs Deep),” with a faster tempo and a jazzy groove, is transformed into the perfect Ballroom/Stepper’s tune – transporting you to your own “Ballroom Paradise”.
