*Hollywood producer Will Packer, known for producing hits like “Straight Outta Compton,” and “Think Like A Man,” married his longtime love Heather Hayslett in an intimate, backyard surprise ceremony at their new home outside of Atlanta, Essence reports. Packer met Hayslett during a boat ride at ESSENCE Festival in 2009 and he proposed live on stage before 40,000 attendees at ESSENCE Festival in 2013.
On Friday night, the couple invited 50 of their closest family and friends to a housewarming party at their new home in Sandy Springs, Georgia. Guests were treated to a brief tour of the house and served champagne and wine before being asked to take seats at festive café tables in the couple’s backyard, where they were surprised when the wedding kicked off to a mash up hits that included Rich Homie Quan and Janelle Monae.
“I always imagined that my wedding would be just me looking into my husband’s eyes and us professing our love for each other, and that is exactly what we did yesterday,” Hayslett told ESSENCE.
Hayslett stunned in a champagne satin Eve of Milady wedding gown with a silver beaded overlay. “When I went to look for a dress, I wanted it to be grown and I wanted it to be sexy, but I wanted it to be classy too,” said the bride. “I told Will, ‘I want to walk down that aisle and see drool coming down the side off your lips.’ And, I could tell by the look on his face when I came down that aisle that I had done what I came to do. He couldn’t keep still.”
Packer, a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity, wore a Miguel Wilson Collection black and gold tuxedo.
“When I saw her at the end of that aisle I just lost it,” says Packer. “That whole backyard was crying. Between Heather’s entrance and the vows it was insane. It was very, very emotional.”
