amber rose*Amber Rose’s Slut Walk is not getting the support she wants from female celebrities she’s reached out to.

TheJasmineBrand.com reports the former video vixen’s plans to have a few female artists on hand to perform at the upcoming event were squashed when their rates were too pricey. Rose took to social media to express her frustration with the following tweets:

The lack of support for the Slut Walk comes months after Rose announced the motivation for the event on Instagram earlier this year.

“My Slut Walk will be about every Woman Equality issue we deal with everyday u can walk and make signs for the issues ur passionate about,” she wrote. “I’m in the beginning stages of putting this together but with ur help this could be an amazing liberating experience for us women. Stay tuned for more info in weeks to come. #AmberRosesSlutWalk”

In case your support for Rose is blocked by the controversial name of her event, don’t worry. There’s a meaning behind it as organizers picked that name on purpose, according to the Washington Post, which noted that very little is worn by protestors in some Slut Walks. The move is done as a way for demonstrators to
fight the idea that what women wear, what they drink or how they behave can make them a target for rape.

TheJasmineBrand points out that Slut Walks have expanded beyond the local march five women organized in Toronto. As it stands now, Slut Walk events are planned in more than 75 cities in countries from the United States and Canada to Sweden and South Africa.
