*For Hip-Hop fans of this generation, for Hip-Hop fans raised on the break beats of yesteryear, and for Hip-Hop fans yearning for a better tomorrow, the Second Annual The Source 360 Festival & Experience was the perfect punctuation to the summer madness of tourist crowds, pride parades and open fire hydrants.
The weekend was filled with acts that you know and love, and unsigned artists starving for a come up as well.
The 360 portion of the festival moniker is to describe how Hip-Hop influences art, music, film, television, sports and even the technology sector, and vice versa.
The festivities included a block party, outdoor festivals, fashion shows, beauty bars, youth education and training sessions, brunches and night life affairs at the BRIC Arts & Media Center, Brooklyn Academy of Music, Kings Theater, the Brooklyn Navy Yard and a multitude of other BK haunts.
The unsigned hype lyrical confrontation featured hungry emcees like K. Forbes, Bam Vito, Scienze, Josh McFadden, Yusha Assad, and Rose Rome in an evening of realness hosted by King of Pop Comedy Jack Thriller. Smoke DZA came through to show love as well.
Brand Nubian Goes Back in Time With Classic Cuts
The unsigned hype portion of the even event concluded in the evening with contributions from Brooklyn’s own actor/emcee Astro.
This year’s festival also featured contributions from Scarface, Faith Evans, Dead Prez, Joe Budden and DMC and a multitude of rap illuminates as well as panels featuring some of the top creative minds in the business.
