*Following a trip to Pier 1 Imports, singer Jazmine Sullivan took to Instagram to share how the visit triggered memories of an abusive relationship.

Sullivan revealed that she once found solace in the store, saying she would go there and walk around for hours just to get away from her abusive boyfriend.

“The last time I was in this store was during my abusive relationship [with] my ex 3-4 years ago. I used to come and walk around this store for hours, just to get away from him and the house,” Sullivan wrote. “I would cry in here.”

Luckily, Jazmine got out of the relationship before it ended in tragedy, as so many abusive relationships do. Today, the chart-topping singer is happier and in a much better place. Revisiting the store post-boyfriend, she wrote:

“But today I was joyful, laughing and feeling love from my bestfraan. So I’d like to take the time to thank God for who and where I am today. Walking around this store [with] this happy attitude today may be small to anyone else, but I know from where God brought me. So I just wanted to share. Take a minute and thank God that ur not where u used to b.”

In related news, The Boom Box reports that Jazmine, whose third album, “Reality Show,” dropped in January, commanded the SummerStage in New York City’s Central Park on August 23, performing hits like “Mascara,” “Holding You Down” and “Forever Don’t Last.” She also sang “Lions, Tigers and Bears,” and reminisced about that time she famously performed “Home” from The Wiz when she was 11 years old.

“I remember it like it was just yesterday. And all I was thinking about is how grateful I was for everyone accepting me like you did, and I just wanted to say that I appreciate you guys and appreciate you for all being out here,” she said.
