*When national syndicated radio host Tom Joyner sold his oceanfront mansion in Golden Beach for $21 million, he bought another seaside home in the city for $10.5 million, and netted a sweet profit in the process.
South Florida Business Journal was first to report Joyner’s sell of the 9,764-square-foot estate, which he purchased in 2004 for half the price he sold it for.
“Everything about the house is perfectly beautiful,” says listing agent Rossana Franco, who bought the beachfront lot, sight unseen, built the house, lived in it for three years, and then sold it to Joyner, Realtor notes.
Joyner’s new 6,885-square-foot home at 469 Ocean Blvd., – which is down the road from his old home – boasts five bedrooms, 5.5 bathrooms, an elevator, a pool, and parking for eight vehicles.
The modest, Mediterranean-inspired home was built in 2007, and also includes marble and wood floors, Murano light fixtures, two fireplaces, terraces with ocean views, and an elevator. It’s a palace detailed to precision to accommodate a man worth around $30 million.
EUR previously picked up on a Daily Mail report that stated Joyner was being forced into early retirement in order to make room for younger talent to takeover his radio show.
However, Reach Media has responded to Daily Mail’s story, denying the claims and assuring fans that it will continue to syndicate Tom’s show.
“Any stories that suggest major changes to the Tom Joyner Morning Show are inaccurate. Tom Joyner is under contract with Reach Media until the end of 2017. We expect that Reach will continue to syndicate Tom’s show beyond that date and for as long as he would like to be on the air. There has always been refinements and updates to the show as well as market changes due to local conditions and there may be some in the future; but Tom Joyner and the Tom Joyner Morning show continues to be strong and is a daily Party with a Purpose. Reach is committed to Tom Joyner for the long term who remains committed to radio, his audience and the future.”
