*She didn’t exactly say a lot, but Jada Pinkett Smith – who has the attention of the entertainment world because of her public thoughts on boycotting the upcoming Oscar awards – has responded to the Academy’s statement on the issue she helped raise.

“I would like to express my gratitude to the Academy, specifically Cheryl Boone Isaacs, for such a quick response in regard to the issue at hand,” the actress wrote on her Facebook page Tuesday. She added: “I look forward to the future.”

Pinkett Smith was referring to Boone Isaacs’ official statement on the matter, where she said she was “both heartbroken and frustrated” at the situation.

Pinkett Smith’s boycott thoughts about the lack of non-white actors being nominated for individual acting categories at the annual awards ceremony first hit the social media world on Saturday

“At the Oscars … people of color are always welcomed to give out awards … even entertain, but we are rarely recognized for our artistic accomplishments,” she wrote. “Should people of color refrain from participating all together?”

Pickett Smith continued, “People can only treat us in the way in which we allow. With much respect in the midst of deep disappointment.”
