*Seven years after being found guilty for the murders Jennifer Hudson’s mother, brother and 7-year-old nephew … William Balfour is speaking out. He claims he’s innocent of the killings and that his conviction was the result of a grand police-concocted “conspiracy.”
“I didn’t have nothing to do with her family being killed. Period,” Hudson’s former brother-in-law told the ABC 7 I Team in his first interview since the 2008 murders. “I didn’t have nothing to do with the case and don’t know who had anything to do with the case.”

A jury found that on Oct. 24, 2008, Balfour shot and killed Hudson’s mother and brother in their Englewood, Illinois home and abducted her 7-year-old nephew in a jealous rage. The youngster was found shot to death in a stolen SUV. Police said the keys were found in Balfour’s pocket. And witnesses said they had seen Balfour with a distinctive chrome and black pistol like the one used in the murders.
The murders received worldwide attention. Balfour was arrested right away – the day of the killings. He was never confronted by relatives or reporters, and he never testified at his trial. So when he offered to talk for the first time, the ABC7 I-Team responded with a list of tough questions.
