*The discovery of a knife that was found on the property of O.J. Simpson’s former Brentwood estate did not go unnoticed by the ex-NFL star, who weighed in on the discovery with an interesting response.
Upon hearing about last week’s finding of the knife and news of it being tested by the Los Angeles Police Department as the possible murder weapon in the 1994 double murder of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman, a source from within the prison Simpson is held told the Daily Mail that the sportsman turned actor burst into a loud, uncontrollable laughter
“It’s complete bullsh**,” Simpson reportedly said. “But this is all they got. It’s pathetic, really pathetic.”
Simpson’s reaction marks the latest development since a construction worker reportedly found the knife at Simpson’s estate during demolition. The weapon was in the possession of an off-duty traffic cop for 18 years before he was recently asked to turn it over to the LAPD, which had no prior knowledge of the newly-discovered knife.
The knife especially raises eyebrows in light of the fact that the weapon used to kill Nicole Brown Simpson and Goldman was never found. Although Simpson was ultimately cleared of both murders, he is currently serving a 33-year sentence for armed robbery.
At this time, the knife is being tested for any indication that could connect it to the deaths of Goldman and Nicole Brown Simpson. Despite the possibility of the knife containing DNA evidence, it wouldn’t hold much weight since double jeopardy laws would prevent Simpson from being retried for the murders.
Nevertheless, the sports legend is concerned about the discovery of the knife could still affect him.
“So now somebody else wants to write a book about a f****ing knife,” he supposedly told the prison source. “Now… after all these years a knife mysteriously appears when they know I am up for parole next year. How convenient.”
