The Real

*Adrienne Bailon, Loni Love, Jeannie Mai and Tamera Mowry-Housley reportedly had no idea that Tamar Braxton was leaving the daytime talk show, “The Real.” The ladies were reportedly just as shocked as everyone else when it was announced over the weekend that she wouldn’t return for Season 3.

TheJasmineBrand reported Sunday that the co-hosts were “blindsided” by the news and “had no idea that Tamar would be terminated.” A source told the outlet, “Quite frankly, they’re devastated. There wasn’t a meeting called. There wasn’t even warning signs, and they had nothing to do with her firing. They didn’t even know that a statement was being put out.”

Fans of the hit daytime talk show were stunned by the news that Tamar will no longer be a part of the talk show. Since the news broke, there have been reports that she was fired due to her “attitude” and reported tension with her co-stars.

Love B Scott reported that Braxton had been let go because she wasn’t “reading too well” with the audience, and the “sales people didn’t find her to be a good fit for advertisers.” However, in an official statement released Sunday, “The Real” producers said Tamar was leaving to focus on other things and called her departure a “mutual decision.”

Prior to the release of the statement, Tamar took to Instagram to vent about being betrayed by someone close to her. Fans assumed she was referring to a colleague, and this speculation was bolstered when Braxton unfollowed her former co-hosts on social media.

In an IG post, Tamar wrote:

“I love u all but I have been stabbed in the back by someone I stupidly trusted ( not my man or my sisters) I am not about to be tried and tested to snitch and it’s not in good taste to tell you who…… but as #tamartians you are very smart and can figure things out on your own. But know that every one who smiles in your face is NOT your friend and is NOT cheering for you and will LIE and try and tear u down to TRY and dim your light. Thank GOD HE HOLDS MY FUTURE AND MY HAND! (Remember who u are)….I am Tamar Braxton.”

After her post went viral, though, “The Real” and Braxton released a joint statement claiming that she wasn’t fired and that she and the producers made the mutual decision that she would leave to focus on her music career.

“She will be leaving in order to concentrate on her solo career,” the statement read (via Variety). “Everyone associated with ‘The Real’ appreciates Tamar’s efforts and the contributions she has made to the show’s success, and we wish her all the best in the future.”
