For one thing, the site says the reason the cast was so shocked by Telepictures’ decision to dump Tamar was because all five cast members had just completed a new photo shoot for images that were supposed to be used to promote their upcoming third season.
They were also supposed to travel to New Orleans together over the July 4th weekend for a rare off-season multi-day taping at the Essence Festival, where they were going to film episodes of their show and premiere them when they returned in September.
But during the final tapings of “The Real” in early May, the show’s executive producer had reached breaking point with Tamar, who cursed her out in earshot of other staffers on set after being upset she lost a game during the taping.
‘It was an ugly scene. Pinterest was sponsoring the segment and Tamar was genuinely upset she was losing the game.
‘She really acted out during the taping in front of the studio audience and then exploded behind the scenes once the show was done.
Producers had to heavily edit the segment to make it presentable to air on TV, but the sponsor was on set for the segment and witnessed it all,’ the source explains.
According to production people on the show, Tamar’s outbursts on set were frequent. She regularly blew up at the executive producer and oftentimes her husband Vincent Hubert or her co-hosts would work to calm her down.
‘Let’s just say she was becoming unbearable to work with,’ the source added.
The story continues … in September 2015, it was announced Tamar had signed on to join Season 21 of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars. Besides causing family conflict, as previously reported, it also meant that “The Real” had to readjust the production schedule to accommodate Tamar not being on the show.
They used several guest hosts to fill in for her.
During her run on Dancing with the Stars, the 39-year-old entertainer was rushed to the hospital and had blood clots found in her lungs. Her condition became so serious that it was nearly fatal and Tamar had to leave the dance competition series and take an extended absence from The Real.
‘While she was on Dancing with the Stars producers realized the show could survive without her. It was peaceful on set, as the other four ladies are quite easy to work with, and the ratings maintained and at times, went up depending on whom was guest co-hosting the show,’ the source explained.
Sources tell Daily Mail Online Telepictures decided to conduct focus groups on the show to see what they could do to empower the show for Seasons 3 and 4, as it had been announced that the series had received a two-year renewal on all Fox stations and on BET where it re-airs.
The research from the focus group was not good for Tamar.
Uh oh. Click over to the Daily Mail to get the scoop on that and the rest of the story. You’ll learn that even though her husband, Vince Herbert, was listed as a producer on the show, even he didn’t know the axe was falling on Tamar. Also: focus groups gave her failing grades (they called her “ghetto”) and she was not liked by the show’s advertisers among other things.
