*Aretha Franklin says her doctor wants her to take a chill pill. Franklin, 74, said in a statement on Monday, “due to doctors’ orders I will have to cancel a few concerts for the next month or so.” That would include her show Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts near Vienna, Virginia this coming Friday (08-26)
The Queen is also canceling two performances at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall: “Tony Bennett Celebrates 90” on Sept. 15 and a solo show on Sept. 23, reports the Associated Press.
Aretha said she should be back on the road in November. She also canceled a show in Las Vegas last year because of exhaustion.
*So did you hear the one about Columbus Short getting married and having a baby. No, it’s not a joke. At least we don’t think it is, But with this guy, you never know.
Anywhoo, by the first of the year, Short and his new fiancée, Aida Abramyan should be welcoming son. In case you’re wondering, he says he and Abramyan have been on and off for years, but he just recently popped the question. The two plan on getting married some time before January before the baby is born
Short, 33, says he and his future Mrs. already have a named picked out for the little one, but they’re keeping it private for now.
Considering what he went through with Karrine Steffans a few months ago, we wish Columbus and Aida the best.
